研究方向

1.自閉症是一種神經發育性的疾病,主要病徵為社交能力障礙與溝通能力的缺乏,且常出現反覆行為與過度焦慮反應。因此運用表現類似自閉症行為之齧齒類動物模型來探討自閉症相關大腦異常是一種具挑戰性但可能成果豐碩的方法。我們研究主要探討自閉症動物其大腦神經細胞突觸興奮性和抑制性間平衡改變的機制,並尋找藥物改善自閉症所導致之神經與行為異常。

2.現今因社經環境壓力導致人類精神疾患人口日益增多。我們研究主題著重於探討精神疾患所引起大腦功能改變的因素,並尋找調控情緒反應的關鍵蛋白。研究策略結合神經藥物、分子生物學、動物行為模式和神經電生理技術剖析精神創傷或生理性腦血管疾病造成憂鬱,焦慮情緒障礙表現的神經生理機制。

3. 利用非藥物治療像腦部深層電刺激方式,改善神經發育性疾病或精神相關疾病,並探討其神經迴路之作用機制,其優點為減少藥物治療的使用劑量以及使用頻率,更可降低藥物所導致的副作用,開發臨床上除藥物使用之外的嶄新治療策略。
